Soon after celebrating its first anniversary in June, Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure introduced guests to the pier’s fourth and final neighborhood: Inside Out Headquarters, based on the animated movie “Inside Out.”
“When we started Pixar Pier, we always envisioned four unique neighborhoods,” said Krista Sheffler, project manager for theme parks at Pixar Animation Studios. “And now, Inside Out Headquarters completes that vision.”
The centerpiece of the whimsical area is Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, a colorful attraction that allows clients to take a spin in Memory Movers guided by Riley’s emotions: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear. Each emotion gets a turn to shine in one of five versions with a character-driven narration and distinct musical score created by Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino.

“For the last year, guests have been making happy memories here with their friends and families,” Rosenbaum said. “With the opening of Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, it really cements that Pixar Pier is the home of happy memories here at California Adventure.”
