Holland America Line has announced that its 2009 Alaska cruise schedule will include eight ships sailing three different itineraries — Glacier Bay Inside Passage, Glacier Discovery and Alaskan Explorer.
“We’ve arranged our ships and itineraries for 2009 to ensure that everyone who sails —even if they are on board for only three days as part of a cruise tour — will visit a tidewater glacier,” said Richard D. Meadows, CTC, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs. “Seeing a glacier calve in front of you and hearing the thunderous cracking of ice is a thrilling experience every traveler should have at least once in a lifetime.”
The itineraries will visit Alaska’s Hubbard Glacier in Yakutat Bay, College Fjord and Glacier Bay National Park. In partnership with Alaska Native Heritage Center, the majority of sailings to Glacier Bay National Park will feature Alaska Native Travel Guides, who will enlighten guests with knowledge about local flora and fauna, history, art and culture.
The 2009 cruises will depart from Seattle through Sept. 25.
