AmaWaterways has announced a new contest for travel advisors coinciding with the 2024 Summer Olympics in France. The "Cruise for Gold" contest offers travel advisors the chance to win one of three prizes.
The contest runs from July 26 to Sept. 8, 2024. Travel advisors are automatically entered with each new fully deposited booking on any 2024 or 2025 French itinerary made during this period. Multiple bookings result in multiple entries.
Contest prizes include:
- Gold Medal: A luxury suite on a 12-day Secrets of Egypt & the Nile River cruise
- Silver Medal: A twin-balcony stateroom on any European itinerary (excluding Portugal)
- Bronze Medal: A French balcony stateroom on any European itinerary (excluding Portugal)
All prizes are for a travel advisor and a guest, valid for departures between September 2024 and March 2025, subject to availability. Winners will be drawn randomly and announced on Sept. 9.
AmaWaterways has created marketing materials to support travel advisors during the contest period, including social media content and videos available on the company's Travel Agent portal.
The company reports strong demand for its French itineraries in connection with the Summer Games. In response, AmaWaterways has introduced a new Flavors of Burgundy itinerary for 2024. Additionally, two new 14-night itineraries combining multiple French regions will be offered in 2025.
"Every day, millions of people will be watching live streams from many parts of France, and this will undoubtedly bring the destination to the forefront of their minds,” said Alex Pinelo, senior vice president of sales for AmaWaterways. “It's not just Paris that will be hosting events, Bordeaux, Marseille and Lyon are all operating as Summer Games venues and will be in the spotlight, too."
AmaWaterways currently offers eight French itineraries across five ships.
