It’s not just river and ocean cruise lines that are opening up reservations through 2026. Expedition cruise companies are also looking further into the future, offering new itineraries to pique traveler interest. Atlas Ocean Voyages
Atlas Ocean Voyages launches the new World Voyager this month, and the 198-guest yacht will offer 26 “cultural expeditions" between March and October 2024 in the Caribbean and South America. Then, for the line’s 2024-2025 polar season, there will be 48 departures to Antarctica between World Voyager and fellow vessels World Navigator and World Traveller.
Aqua Expeditions
Aqua Expeditions has added more weeklong sailings in the Peruvian Amazon to its February 2024 offerings. If clients consider boarding the 20-suite Aqua Nera in mid-February, they may be privy to cultural celebrations part of Carnival of Cajamarca (February 10-14, 2024).
Aurora Expeditions
Aurora Expeditions has already unveiled its 2024 Arctic program and is preparing for its 2024-2025 Antarctic season, as well. One new offering is a 20-day itinerary called “In Shackleton’s Footsteps.” The route follows the course of the great polar explorer’s early 20th-century journey onboard Endurance; highlights include viewing the icebergs of the Weddell Sea and visiting South Georgia, a wildlife sanctuary home to fur seals, multiple penguin species and more.
Emerald Cruises
Luxury yachts Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara from Emerald Cruises are set to navigate the Mediterranean, the Seychelles archipelago and beyond on itineraries already scheduled through 2026. Other trips highlight the Adriatic, Caribbean and Red seas, sailing from the Croatian coastline and Greek isles to the Grenadines and the region’s Windward and Leeward Islands.
HX and Hurtigruten
HX (formerly Hurtigruten Expeditions) and Hurtigruten (formerly Hurtigruten Norway) is also looking well into the future by releasing its 2025-2026 season sailings, featuring more than 80 itineraries, visiting five continents and touching on Alaska, Antarctica, Greenland, the Northwest Passage and even West Africa and more.
Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic
Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic (https://www.expeditions.com/about/national-geographic-partnership/) is prepping for its upcoming 2023-2024 Antarctica season (https://www.expeditions.com/destinations/antarctica/) with an impressive lineup of guest speakers, from experts in maritime archaeology and glaciology to birding and summit climbing. The adventure line is also teaming up with "Food & Wine" magazine for a series of special voyages along the Columbia and Snake rivers.
Ponant
For its upcoming Antarctic season, Ponant is readying an extended 30-day exploration in January and February 2024 in partnership with The Explorers Club. Clients will sail onboard the line’s Le Commandant Charcot icebreaker from Ushuaia, Argentina to New Zealand and will circumnavigate half of Antarctica en route. And in 2025, the same ship will uniquely traverse Canada’s St. Lawrence River during the Boreal winter.
Quark Expeditions
Quark Expeditions is selling its 2024-2025 Antarctic itineraries, some of which include helicopter excursions off the brand’s newest vessel, Ultramarine. Flight-seeing and heli-landings will be available on a selection of 30 departure dates and lengths; trips range from 7 to 23 days. Clients can also expect kayaking, Zodiac cruising, hiking and wildlife viewing onboard Ocean Adventurer and World Explorer itineraries.
Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours
Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours recently introduced its second Scenic Eclipse II vessel, so there is now dynamic duo of discovery yachts charting worldwide routes through 2025. Future itineraries include 11- to 13-day adventures in Australia and New Zealand, 13- or 15-day sailings in the remote Pacific islands and two 17-day journeys in Asia. Antarctica itineraries are also selling now.
Seabourn Cruise Line
Now that it has launched the Seabourn Pursuit, Seabourn Cruise Line is slated to sail to the Amazon, Antarctica and the Kimberley area of Australia. And in 2025-2026, the luxury brand will continue to sail in those regions, as well as in the Canadian Arctic, Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland and the South Pacific.
Silversea
Silversea debuted its latest expedition ship, Silver Endeavour, in 2021, and the vessel will travel far and wide in 2024 and 2025. Its season will showcase 14 cruises in Antarctica, 9 sailings in the Arctic and 4 voyages in the British Isles and Iceland, and journeys will range from six to 21 days in length.
Swan Hellenic
Swan Hellenic is another line ready to sell its 2024-2025 Antarctica itineraries; from November 13, 2024 to March 3, 2025, cruises in the destination will range between nine and 21 days in length. Swan Hellenic is also promoting its 2024 cultural expedition cruises, which encompass trips from Chile and Peru to South Africa and Greenland.
UnCruise Adventures
The small but mighty UnCruise Adventures is looking forward to 2024 with its special Baja California Eclipse Cruise, which will depart on April 6 next year from San Jose del Cabo. The itinerary promises ideal viewing of the celestial event, in addition to educating cruisers on the history and culture of Baja California Sur. Clients can also expect daily snorkeling, kayaking, and stand-up paddle-boarding opportunities.
