In February, Hilton announced a partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) that would allow Hilton Honors guests to earn and redeem points at SLH properties around the world.
Starting today, 390 SLH properties are available to book on all Hilton direct booking channels, including Hilton.com and the Hilton Honors app.
More SLH hotels are expected to join in the coming months.
Our Analysis: Hilton’s Partnership With SLH Quenches Guest Demand for Unique Experiences and Serves Company’s Rapid Growth Strategy
This partnership is part of Hilton’s aim to offer dramatically more unique high-end offerings around the world, complementing its existing luxury portfolio (Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts and Signia by Hilton).
Hilton points to SLH’s one-of-a-kind luxury experiences, including staying in “rustic huts and woodland treehouses to rainforest retreats and coastal villas.”
The partnership also allows Hilton to offer its loyalty members more opportunities to use and earn points, with Hilton promising exclusive benefits for Hilton Honors members booking SLH hotels. These include free Wi-Fi access and a guaranteed member discount, while Gold and Diamond members are also eligible for space-available room upgrades and continental breakfast for up to two guests.
And by partnering with Hilton, SLH is allowing its network of independent hotels to reach a much larger luxury audience who may not otherwise find boutique hotels on their own, or who prefer to book through points.
What They're Saying: Hilton and SLH Alliance Benefits Customers of Both Companies
“Integrating with Small Luxury Hotels of the World allows us to expand the Hilton stay experience and travel aspirations for all guests, with special opportunities for our loyal Hilton Honors members,” said Chris Silcock, president of global brands and commercial services for Hilton. “The hundreds of independently minded properties are highly complementary to our renowned luxury portfolio and support Hilton’s ongoing efforts to expand and create distinct, localized travel experiences for our guests.”
"Through this collaboration, Hilton guests and Hilton Honors members will receive a warm welcome at SLH member hotels, allowing them to experience our distinctive approach to hospitality,” said Shaun Leleu, chairman of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. “This alliance expands the reach of our boutique hotels to Hilton's loyal and discerning clientele, transforming the global landscape for independently owned hotels in a remarkable way."
